STEINMEYER

Frederick H. Steinmeyer died at his home in Indian creek west of Farmington November 23, 1888, aged 76 years 2 months and five days.

Mr. Steinmeyer was born September 17, 1812, at Holtzhausen, in Waldeck, Germany, and came to the vicinity of Farmington in 1840, settling on Indian creek where he continued to reside. He was married in 1842. Eight children, 6 boys and 2 girls survive him.

Mr. S. was one of the most influential and prominent men in the Indian creek German M.E. Church serving it in every capacity, among others being its local preacher for 32 years. During his long career among us his strict integrity, purity of character and true Christian spirit over shone resplendently.

The funeral last Sunday at 10:30 was a large affair such a crowd never before having been seen crushed into the church.

People came from far and near to pay their last respects to the venerable dead. Rev. Fotsche officiated. The deceased was buried in the cemetery nearby.
