Sarah Verle ANDERSON, 82, of Norwalk Nursing Home, Norwalk, formerly of Birmingham, died Friday, May 27, 1988, at 9:45 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born Oct. 21, 1905, at Libertyville, the daughter of Nelson and Addie TURNBULL McCLEARY.
She made her home in Birmingham from 1959-1983. She was employed at the Fairfield Glove Company for several years. She married Cloyce Virgil HYDE. He died in 1949. She later married M. V. ANDERSON in July 1953. He died Jan. 2, 1981.
She is survived by three daughters: Jean MCDOWELL, Birmngham, Gwen SMITH, Burlington, and Sandra MCGHEE, Des Moines; two step-children, Larry Dean ANDERSON, Des Moines, and Beverly WILSON, Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; one brother; and one sister.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Burch-Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Shirley Rozendaal officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association or to the First Responders of Birmingham.
