Richard Watts was born in Cincinnati, Ohio Aug. 25th, 1849. When 7 years of age he came to Iowa, with his parents who settled in Van Buren Co., where he resided until his death. Nov. 28, 1875, he was married to Miss Sarah Weiher. To this union was born three children, two sons and one daughter who with their mother are left to mourn their loss. He did on Friday Jan. 8th, 1892 aged 42 years, 4 months and 13 days. Funeral took place from his late residence Jan. 11th. Rev. G. W. Barber of Selma conducting the services.
