Robert B. Pearson was born at Plymouth, Mass. Feb. 18th, 1843, and died at his home in Vernon township, July 30th, 1913. The funeral was held at the Story chapel, Aug. 1st, Rev. Hughes, of Bonaparte, officiating. A large number of friends were present. The widow, Mrs. Pearson, owing to feebleness, was unable to be present. Mr. Bruce Pearson lived to be 70 years, 5 months, and 12 days of age.

He enlisted in the Union Army Sept. 11, 1862, and served in the 12th Massachusetts Battery until the close of the war. He was mustered out with honors June 10th, 1865. He studied medicine in Keokuk Medical College and after graduating from that Institute came to this County where he was afterwards married to Alicia White, who preceded him to the "great beyond" several years ago.

On Dec. 11th, 1901, he was united in marriage to Lucelia Lippincot, who survives him. May God's blessing rest upon the widow in her feebleness and loneliness.
