Rites at Cantril for Canadian

Former Van Buren County Man, Car Accident Victim; Leaves 2 Sisters and Brother

The body of Clay Dean Holder of Lethbridge, Canada, a former Cantril resident, arrived at Memphis, Mo., Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fritz and Mrs. Floyd Smith went to Memphis, where funeral services were held at the Payne funeral home in the afternoon.

Burial was at the Holder lot in the Cantril cemetery under Masonic auspices. Among those attending the final rites were Mr. Holder’s two sisters, Mrs. Leonard Hodge of Murdock, Kan., and Mrs. John Miller of Arbela, Mo., and their brother, Marion Holder of Bloomington, Ill.

Mr. Holder, who was 55 years old, was killed instantly when struck by an automobile. He had been a resident of Canda[sic] 30 years and was the station agent at Lethbridge. Some years ago he was the station agent at Medicine Hat, Canada.

In early life Mr. Holder lived at Upton, five miles southeast of Cantril. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.T. Holder and was a cousin of Leonard Fritz of Cantril.
