George Weaver was born December 10, 1814, in Lower Augusta, Northumberland county, Pa., and died at his home near Bentonsport, Van Buren county, Iowa, January 1, 1893, was married to Catharine Kerlin in 1855 and moved to Van Buren county in 1861 where he has since resided. Nine children were born to them, three of whom with the mother still live to mourn the loss of the husband and father. Funeral services occurred at the home January 3, conducted by Rev. R. Breeden, assisted by Rev. Steward. He was an Odd Fellow and was buried by that order.
