Mrs. Harriett MECK, 77, died Wednesday noon, Sept. 27 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Birmingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth D. Suetterliln officiating. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
Harriett MECK was born April 20, 1895, at Stockport, the daughter of Thomas and Mary FORD LYON.
She was married to Ray MECK Dec. 12, 1912, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death in 1951.
Survivors include six sons, Lyle, Clifton, Wesley and Melvin, all of Fairfield, Harold of Davenport and Donald of Libertyville; two daughters, Mrs. Edna CRAFTON of Birmingham and Mrs. Leona ANDERSON of Des Moines.
Other survivors include 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert LYON of Kansas City and Eugene LYON of Eldon; six sisters, Mrs. Hazel JOHNSON of Birmingham, Mrs. Gladys STILLWELL of Danville, Mrs. Cleola BRIGHTWELL and Ida Mae LYON, both of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Etta CALHOUN of Agency and Mrs. Mary MOORE of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and two sisters.
