M. SIMPKINS dies at 82

BIRMINGHAM - Mary Belle SIMPKINS, 82, of Country Lane Apartments in Keosauqua, died Tuesday afternoon at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with the Rev. Leo Sheffel officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery. Memorials to the Heart Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. SIMPKINS was born July 26, 1898 near Stockport, the daughter of Charles and Eva STEPP WEAVER. On Dec. 23, 1914 in Ottumwa, she married Pearl Allen SIMPKINS who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lance SANDERSON, Arcadia, Ohi; two sons, Francis of Melbourne, Ark., Gerald of Golden, Colo.; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Virgie KIRBY, Cedar Rapids; four brothers, Rex WEAVER, Cedar Rapids, Fred of Fairfield, Leonard and James, both of Birmingham. A brother and a sister preceded her in death.
