Benjamin Philip Wagner.
Benjamin Philip Wagner, son of Benjamin and Margaret Wagner, was born in Montgomery county, Ohio, March 4, 1853, and came with his father's family to Iowa in 1855.
The settled first in Mt. Pleasant where they resided five years, and moved from there to the farm east of Bonaparte where the subject of this sketch grew to manhood.
He was married to Miss Isabelle Cummings Feb. 2, 1879, and to this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter. One son preceded him in death.
He removed to Montana in 1902 where he resided until his death occurred near Helena August 1, 1906. His age is fiftythree years, four months and twenty-seven days.
He leaves to mourn for him besides his children, two brothers, William S. of Moberly, Mo., and Charles E. of Bonaparte; three sisters, Mrs. J. T. Stewart of Shenandoah, Iowa, Miss Mollie Wagner and Mrs. Louis Cummings of Bonaparte; Two uncles, Philip Wagner of Farmington and Harry Shroyer of Dapton, Ohio; and one aunt, Mrs. Shrodes of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Monday at the home of his sister, Miss Mollie Wagner in Bonaparte, Rev. Barber officiating.
