John W. Frit*inger was born Nov. [may be an unreadable digit before the 9] 9th 1860 at Winterset Iowa. He was brought to this county by his parents when but a few days of age, and he resided a few miles north of Bonaparte until last January when he moved to Merritt, Ill., where he died Sept. 6, 1893 at 11:*0 A. M. He was married about eight years ago to Vallie Gay of this county. Four children were born to them two of whom died in infancy and two remain with their mother to morn [sic] his loss. He united with the Baptist Church at Bonaparte, early in life and remained a consistent member until he removed to Merritt, where there being no Baptist organization he identified himself with that of Methodist Church of that place and was a faithful member until his death. John was well known in Bonaparte and was well thought of by his many friends who regret his loss and sincerely symphize [sic] with the family in their affliction. The relatives wish to express their heart felt thanks for the many kindnesses shown them in the home of their sorrow and bereavement by Miss Mattie Hardwick, Geo. Crabb and family and the neighbors in general.
