Mary Georgia Bagby, 88, of Parkview Care Center, died at 8:29 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 1996, at the care center.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham. Visitation is open at the funeral home until 8 tonight. Memorials have been established to American Diabetes Association and the Jefferson County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Bagby was born Sept. 11, 1907, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Charles and Mina Kimmel Hootman. On Oct. 7, 1925, she married Frank Gale Bagby Sr. He died May 4, 1987. A resident of the Fairfield area for most of her life, she was a homemaker and affiliated with the Methodist church.
Surviving are a daughter, Myrna G. Corry of Fairfield; two sons, Frank J. Jr. and Keith G., both of Fairfield; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Myrtle France of Sigourney. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Moore and Pearl Kerr; and two brothers, Kenneth Hootman and Fred Hootman.
