Leo PHILIPS

Leo PHILIPS, 89, of Fairfield Hotel, died at 5:02 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 1991, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Following cremation, a memorial service is scheduled tentatively for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham. Burial of ashes will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

PHILIPS was born Oct. 17, 1902, near Birmingham, the son of William and Una WALKER PHILIPS. He grew up in the Birmingham community, was a mechanic in Chicago for many years and lived in Colorado Springs, Colo., before returning to Iowa.

Surviving are two brothers, Rex of Douds, Clem of Pine, Colo.; a sister, Verle LANE of Keosauqua; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Lester and two sisters, Fern RUNYON and Ethel MORRIS, preceded him in death.
