Daniel "Max" MESSER, 93, of Farmington, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.
Born May 21, 1904, in Rome, Iowa, he was the son of Josey and Alice COLLINS MESSER. He married Hazel RANKIN June 26, 1930. She died April 7, 1986.
A Farmington resident for 53 years, Mr. Messer was a carpenter and a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Marvin MESSER of Farmington; one daughter, Betty Lu THRONSEN of Anchorage, Alaska; one grandson; and one brother, Ralph MESSER of Mount Pleasant.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, and three brothers.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.
The funeral for Mr. MESSER will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery at Bonaparte.
