Emerson C. Yeager
Emerson C. Yeager was born February 10, 1865 in Scotland County, Missouri. He passed away July 29, 1946 at Montrose, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 6 months, 19 days.
He was a son of William and Sophia Yeager. With the exception of a few years spent in Colorado and South Missouri, he has spent his entire life in Van Buren county and vicinity.
He united in bonds of Holy Matrimony November 14, 1892 to Miss Altie Dennis at Hot Springs, South Dakota. To this union were born eight children, three daughters and five sons. His wife and two sons preceded him in death.
He now leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Mrs. Vera Towne of Killbourne, Iowa, Mrs. Howard Bennett of Montrose, Iowa and Mrs. Lex Miller of Keosauqua, Iowa; three sons, Clark, and Frank of East Moline, Illinois and French of Spencer, Iowa; also 15 grandchildren, one brother, Ledru Yeager of Chico, California, a sister, Mrs. Carrie Rogan of Prescott, Iowa many nieces and nephews, a host of friends and neighbors.
He was united with the Methodist Church at an early age, and lived a good Christian life, a good devoted father to his family, and a loyal neighbor to all who needed help.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Treverton Warren of Keosauqua were held Thursday at Mt. Olive church southwest of Cantril, with interment in Mt. Olive cemetery.
We desire to thank the relatives and friends for their many expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness in our bereavement.
