W. C. CROW DIES
AT ELDON HOME

PIONEER OF NEIGHBORING CITY
SUCCUMBS TO PLEURA PNEUMONIA
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY.

Eldon, Jan. 23, -- William C. Crow, one of the best known residents of Eldon, a man loved and respected by all, died Monday afternoon at 5 o’clock. Pleura pneumonia and a general breakdown caused death. Mr. Crow was in seventy-fifth year, and had resided in Iowa for more than fifty years. He was an old soldier and for two terms he served as representative from Wapello county in the state legislature. He was a prime mover in the organization and the government of the Big Four Fair association, and he was a familiar figure at the fairs for many years past. At his bedside were his wife and numerous relatives, among the latter William S. Russell, a nephew of South Ottumwa.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the residence. The services will be in charge of Vorhies post, G. A. R. of which Mr. Crow was a member. Interment will be made in the Eldon cemetery.
