At the residence of John Q. Beck, on Wednesday morning, Feb. 16th 1887, Mrs. Helen Beck, aged 73 years, 8 months and 24 days.

Deceased was born in York county, Pa., on the 22nd day of May, 1813 and was married to Geo. Beck on the 13 day of October, 1831. They came to Iowa in May, 1851 and settled in Van Buren county and made this country their home until they were called away by death. Seven children were born to them, four of whom survive their parents: Mrs. Jacob Eich, Mrs. A. Whitlock, John Q.and P. O. Beck.

Her comprnion (sic) died June 10th, 1878.

Mrs. Beck was for many years a member of the German Lutheran church, and after her arrival in Iowa, she united with the Presbyterian church of this place.

Four children, twenty four grandchildren and six great grand children are left to mourn.
