Elizabeth Boyd Christy died at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah C. Christy, Bonaparte, Tuesday evening Jan. 17, 1899, age 84 years, 1 month and 22 days. For over 50 years she had made her home with her brother the late Thomas christy, and after his death remained with the family until her death last week. Aunt Lizzie, as she was familiarly called by relatives, and friends, was the eldest of a family of four sisters and three brothers and the last one of the family to be called home. She came with her parents from Ohio to Van Buren County in 1841, and for over half a century has lived in this county. At her death were remaining one sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah C. Christy, and one brother-in-law, Mr. W. J. Johnson, seven nieces and nine nephews. She was of a cheerful disposition and always had a kind word to say of everyone, and was devoted to her relatives and to the children of her sisters and brother. We will all miss Aunt Lizzie, but more especially the family with whom she had so long made her home. She was baptized in infancy and trained to believe the truths taught by the Prespbyterian church. She has gone to the reward that awaits those who live honest and upright lives while here.
