KEOSAUQUA - Mrs. Dora Ream, 86, died Thursday at University Hospital in Iowa City where she had been a patient since Monday. She fractured her hip in a fall Saturday at the Watts Nursing Home in Milton, where she had resided two years.

The former Dora May Fosnot, she was born near Keosauqua Dec. 14, 1877. She graduated at Keosauqua High School in 1896. On Nov, 12, 1896. she married Sydnol Ream who died in 1936.

Also preceding her in death were a daughter. Mary June in 1934 and a son, Halsey in 1948.

Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Ream was appointed to complete his unexpired term as city assessor. She served in that capacity a number of years.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Delphian Club, Business and Profeooional Women, and was librarian at the Keosauqua library, She was a clerk for two years in the Keosauqua Post Office and for 10 years was news correspondent for the Ottumwa Courier.

Survivors include a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church with the Rev, E. S. Tschetter, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. C. Austin. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery. The body is at Burnett-Catcott Funeral Home.
