Anna, daughter of James A and Rachel Brown was born in Westmoreland county Pennsylvania, December 19, 1833, and died in Bentonsport Iowa September 8, 1901 being at the time of her death 67 years, 8 month and 19 days of age. She moved to Iowa with her parents in April, 1840, where she grew to womanhood and continued to reside until the day of her death. She was united in marriage to George L. Moore (who died June 21st 1899) August 20 1854. To this union were born ten children, three of whom have preceded her to the better world. Those who remain to mourn the loss of a mother are Seth R, Robert P, James B. and Kittie Moore of Bentonsport; Mrs. Georgie Hurd of Kansas City, Mrs. Minnie Mason of Eldon Iowa, are Mrs. Elizabeth Booth of Bonaparte. Mrs. Moore, early in life, gave her heart to the Saviour and from that time forth continued to live a noble and consistent Christian life. She was one of the charter members of the Presbyterian church of Bentonsport at its organization March 12, 1853 and her great and constant desire was to assist in the building up of Christ’s kingdom in that place and in doing good as she had opportunity. Many are the eulogies that might be said of her truly noble character, her kindly acts, her sweet disposition, her unselfish solicitude for the good of others. To know her was but to love her. Mrs. Moore, besides her seven children, leaves five brothers to mourn the loss of their last and only sister. Funeral services were held at her late residence, Rev. C. S McElhenny of the Presbyterian officiating assisted by Rev Rollington of the M.E. church. Her remains were laid by the side of her husband in the Bentonsport cemetery, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. Friends and relatives attended from Kansas City, Eldon, Fairfield, Stockport, Mt. Zion, Bonaparte, Keosauqua and the country round about. A profusion of beautiful flowers were received from loving friends as token of remembrance.

We are going the self-same way
and the days of lives have wings.
We shall meet again some glorious day
In the court of the King of Kings—Brother
