BODY OF MRS. LUCY BELL IS FOUND HANGING IN THE CLOSET OF HER HOME

Mrs. Lucy Bell, aged 70, and a well known resident of Birmingham, was found dead in her home on last Sunday afternoon, about ten days after she had taken her own life by hanging.

The body was found in a clothes closet suspended by a rope. She lived alone, and neighbors thought she was away on a visit, hence no one made an investigation until her brother, Sherman Logan, came from Hillsboro on Sunday. He and a neighbor, Rev. L. V. Nash, broke open the door and found her as above stated.

The date of her death is fixed at Sept. 27th because of the newspaper of Sept. 27th being in the house and those of later dates still lying on the porch where they had been placed by the newsboy. Mrs. Bell had purchased groceries on the 27th and these were lying on a table, unopened. She was very deaf, and found it quite difficult to converse with anyone.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Laura Work of Washington, Pa., and three brothers, Sherman W. Logan of Hillsboro, Charles Logan of Mt. Pleasant and Harris Logan of Farmington.

Mrs. Bell is also survived by the following step-children: Dr. H. A. Bell of Ottumwa, Mrs. Ben Mathews of Salem, Chas. E. Bell of Farmington, Hugh Bell of Bonaparte, Oscar Bell of Los Angeles and Mrs. Hattie C. Wyatt of Cedar Rapids.

A short funeral service was held at the late home on Thursday afternoon, at one o'clock with the regular service at Sharon church, Rev. H. C. Irvine in charge. Interment in Sharon cemetery.
