Death of O. H. P. Johnson
-------------------------
Oliver H. P. Johnson of Willits was found dead in an outbuilding of the Ukiah House about 7:15? o'clock on Tuesday, a victim to heart disease. He had not been feeling well of late and came down from his home at Willits and was under the medical care of Dr. W. N. Moore. His friends heard him complaining a little that morning but were surprised to learn of his death within half an hour afterwards. The deceased was one of the earliest settlers at Willits, and was an equal partner of Hiram Willits, now deceased, in a large farming and stock ranch in Little Lake valley.

The deceased was a native of Ohio, and was aged seventy years. He had never married, and the only relative he had in the State is Mrs. Hiram Willits, who is his sister.

The remains of deceased were conveyed to Willits on Tuesday evening and were interred in the Little Lake cemetery on Wednesday.
---------
Note: Oliver Hazard Perry Johnson was the son of William and Nancy Crain Johnson of Van Buren Co. IA. He would have been in Van Buren Co. from 1837 to about 1850.

[I would like to hear from anyone with connection to this family. - Rich]
