Freda Mae Brown, daughter of Elmer and Julia Zachau Brown, was born June 18,1910 at Douds and departed this life Thursday, April 16,1992, at the Van Buren Co. Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 81. She grew up in the Douds community and lived most of her life at the Van Buren County Care facility. Surviving are one brother, Floyd Brown of Encino, Ca; a niece Jeanette Brown Demetri and a nephew Eric Brown, both in California and many friends. Services were held April 20,1992, at the Pedrick Funeral Home and interment was in the Leando Cemetery at Douds.
