Georgie Anna Glascock was born April 10, 1886 in Bonaparte, Iowa, and peacefully slipped away Wednesday evening, Sept. 22, 1943 at her home in Stockport, Iowa, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 12 days.

She was the youngest child of a family of seven, born to Eugene Wilson and Ellen Woods Glascock. Her early life was spent in and near Bonaparte.

Anna was married to John Pratt, Sept. 9, 1909, and all their married life has been spent in Utica or Stockport, Iowa, or nearby. To this union five sons were born. The youngest son, John, Jr., passed away in infancy.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Frances and Jessie Ethel; also two brothers, Charles H and William Lloyd.

Her sons, William Lloyd in army service somewhere overseas and Francis Henry in defense work in Los Angeles, Calif., could not be present when the end came to the mother they loved so well. Floyd and Harold in defense work over at Burlington, Iowa have been a great comfort to her. Her daughters-in-law and grandchildren have also helped to cheer her.

Surviving her passing are her husband, John Pratt; four sons, Floyd and Harold of Burlington, Francis of Los Angeles and Lloyd in the U.S. Army in Iran. One son, John, Jr., preceded her in death.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, one brother, A. W. Glascock, and one sister, Mrs. Edna Thomas of Bonaparte vicinity and other relatives and friends.

Anna has been in failing health for a number of years. She was always cheerful and kind. Her complaints and wants were very few. When in health she was a good neighbor and took an active part in Sunday school and church work. Always interested in doing good. She will be sadly missed.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Stockport Christian church conducted by the Rev. H. C. Irvine of Birmingham with interment in Dibble cemetery.
