Harold F. “Babe” Pratt, 81, of Keosauqua, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994 at the Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.
Born Aug. 4, 1913 at Utica, he was the son of John and Anna Glascock Pratt. He married Alvena Pence Dec. 4, 1937 at Kahoka, Mo.
He was a graduate of Stockport High School and had farmed north of Bentonsport. He had lived in Stockport and Burlington, worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and had operated a service station in Bonaparte. He retired to Keosauqua in 1992 and had been a resident of the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center for a month.
He was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Bonaparte Lodge No. 73, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Janice L. Redden of Decatur, Ill., Annabell L. Albin of West Branch, and Sharon K. Seydel of Iowa City; two brothers, Floyd of Marshalltown, and Lloyd of Bonaparte; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Open visitation will begin at noon Sunday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. At the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
The funeral for Mr. Pratt will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Center Chapel United Methodist Church, southeast of Keosauqua, with the Rev. S. Gale Hawhee officiating. Burial will be in Dibble Cemetery, south of Stockport.
A memorial has been established.
