Lester R. Stecker, 75, Bonaparte, died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 1995, at the Clark County Nursing Home, Kahoka, Missouri.

He was born August 16, 1920 at Bonaparte, the son of John and Nellie Meyers Stecker

He married Glenna Dannenhauer. On August 12, 1972, he married Emma Shriver Hirschler. She survives.

He was a retired farmer, farming near Bonaparte most of his life. He was a charter president for the Bonaparte Lions Club and was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Raymond, Central City; Dale, Bonaparte; Dan, Pleasantville; and Terry, Aurora, Illinois; one daughter, Connie Westercamp, Keosauqua; two step-sons, Steve and Mike Shriver, Bonaparte; 15 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean, Mount Pleasant, and Gilbert, Keosauqua; two sisters, Erma Elliott, Bonaparte, and Neva Carter, Stockport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

The body was cremated. Burial will be in the Bonaparte Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for the Bonaparte Baseball Association and donations may be sent to Hofbauer Funeral Home, Box 56, Donnellson, Iowa 52625.
