George W. Entler, son of William W. and Sarah E. Entler was born October 24, 1843 in York County, near East Berlin, Penn. He came with his parents to Iowa in the spring of 1844, locating in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County.

William W. and Sarah Entler were also the parents of Edward J. and Franklin Entler, who died in infancy; William H. Entler, who died in Washington, D.C. in 1914; Philip J. Entler, residing in West Point, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Humphryes who died in Bonaparte, Iowa in 1876; John S. Entler of Orange, Calif; Jacob F. Entler of Evansvile, Ind.; and Mrs. Catherine Morti, who died in Bonaparte January 30, 1914.

In 1867 Mr. Entler moved to the town of Bonaparte where he engaged in the work of carpenter and builder. In 1884 he moved to Keokuk where he resided one year, then he located in Chicago where he resided till the time of his demise, September 19, 1915.

He was united in marriage February 14, 1878, to Miss Josephine Hall, who passed away in July, 1878. He was again married July 3, 1883, to Miss Ella M. Jones and to this union was born one son, Harry.

To his family he was ever kind, devoted, and indulgent; to his friends he was a true and devoted friend; as a citize4n he was always on the side of civic righteousness and progress; as a man he was the soul of honor, integrity and moral courage.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. P. H. Hawk of Farmington delivering a very beautiful and appropriate address. The Masonic fraternity, of which Mr. Entler had long been a member, rendered the ritualistic services and laid his body to rest in the Bonaparte cemetery.
