Nannie M. George was born Dec. 3, 1828 at Londonderry, Windham county, Vermont, and died Feb. 11, 1917 at Bonaparte, Iowa, at the ripe age of eighty-eight years.

She was united in marriage to Oliver George, M.D., at Olney, Richland county, Ill., on June 1, 1845. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, namely; Charles L., Frank Byron, Wm. A. and Lulu – all of whom with the exception of Lulu George Slinn, having preceded her to the great beyond.

She is the last of her family, being the sixth child of Asel and Sophia Powers. There were three brothers and five sisters.
