Elmer McClintock

MCCLINTOCK, PHILLIPS, SCHUPE

Elmer McClintock, son of William and Grace Schupe McClintock, was born March 29, 1905 near West Point, and departed this life, Thursday, May 11, 1978, at his home near Bonaparte at the age of 73.

He had farmed near Bonaparte more than fifty years. He served in the United States Army in World War II and was a member of Sargeant-Osweiler Post No. 563, American Legion at Bonaparte.

Remaining to cherish his memory are two brothers, Ray of Fort Madison and Earl of Keokuk, a sister, Mrs. Elma Phillips of Fort Madison, two nieces and three nephews. A brother, John, died in January, 1978.

He will be remembered as a man who was faithful to his responsibilities and was a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, 1978 at 10 a.m. at the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Holmes officiating. Interment with military honors by Sargeant-Osweiler Post was in the Bonaparte Cemetery. Pall bearers were James McLeland, Harold Horstman, Fern Anderson, Kenneth Church, Brown Moore and Ira Warner. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
