Iowa Elvira Randall was born Oct. 17, 1846 in Lee county, Iowa and died Feb. 21, 1916 at Bonaparte, aged 69 years, 4 months and 4 days. She was the youngest of eight children born to Mr. And Mrs. L.L. Randall.

When a young woman she moved to Bonaparte where she has lived the greater part of her life.

She early became a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church where she has been a faithful and consistent worker. It was her joy and pleasure to attend wherever the bread of life was broken when health permitted.

She leaves to mourn their loss two sisters, Mrs. Sophia R. White of Fredonia, N.Y., and Mrs. Lyda Jones of Bonaparte; also five nieces and five nephews, and a host of girlhood friends of Farmington and this vicinity.

She had suffered much, having been an invalid most of her life, and had made her home with her sister in this city. She had long since lost all fear of the shadows of death and saw in her departure the approach of a haven of rest and a relief from earthly pangs.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Bonaparte on Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Peterson, with Rev. Hinkhouse assisting. Internment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
