Henry Trenton Saunders was born at LaPlata, Mo. September 4, 1886 and died July 1, 1964 at 10:15 a.m., at his home 4 miles north of Bonaparte while sitting in a chair.

At the age of 12 years he moved to Stronghurst, Il., where he attended school. His father and L. M. Dawson were in the hardware business in Stronghurts. At the age of 21 years, he moved to Aroya, Col.

On April 3, 1910 he was married to Pearle M. Dawson. To this union was born a daughter, Alice, who passed away at the age of three moths. Later he moved to Bonaparte, Ia. Where his son, Dale, was born.

He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife Pearle; his son, Dale and wife Gladys; also four grandchildren, Larry, Jack, Linda Lou and Sandra Kay. He also has a sister, Gussie Headen, living in Bakersfield, Calif., and a cousin, Glen Weatherford at Geneva, Nebr.

His mother, Alice Huey Saunders passed away at an early age at LaPlata, Mo. His father, J. G. Saunders, made his home in Bakersfield, Calif., with his daughter, Gussie, until a few years ago when he passed away.

He has a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Ralph Hawk, living in Bonaparte; also a nephew Bakes Hawk, living in Florida.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, July 4 at the Bonaparte Baptist church with Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Mrs. Keith Gaston sang “Saved By Grace”, “Good Night and Good Morning”. Mrs. Dean Burns was the organist.
Bearers were Ira Warner, Rex Miller, Glen Miller, Carl Mellen, Forrest Wilson and Gerald Burns.
