Albert C. Woods, fourth child of Robert Meek Woods and Mary DeHart Woods was born April 9, 1876 on the farm now owned and occupied by his brother, Otto on Vernon Prairie, southwest of Bonaparte.

Although in failing health for several months he had been doing his farm work and seemingly was as well as for sometime. On Friday afternoon, July 2, 1937, he went to Bonaparte and while standing talking with a friend was struck with a heart attack and passed away suddenly, aged 61 years, 2 months and 23 days.

On March 23, 1898, he was united in marriage to Stella Bradford. They lived on and within a few miles of his birthplace until 1903 when he purchased the farm about two miles a distant, which has since been their home. Several years ago the house was rebuilt and made modern. Albert took much pleasure in doing this and having their many friends and neighbors share it with them. Some years ago they greatly enjoyed a trip through the Black Hills to Yellowstone National Park with Mr. And Mrs. Ranny Story. A days fishing with his friends or neighbors was another of his enjoyments.

Besides his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Morris, near Colby, Kansas, Mrs. Eugenia Snodgrass of near Bentonsport, and three brothers, Otto, who lives on the old home place, John at Lepanto, Ark., and Paul of Bonaparte, six nieces and two nephews are left to mourn their loss. There are besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends. The mother passed away in 1885 and the father in 1924.

Albert was a great home lover, a loyal neighbor, a true and honest friend, and as such will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service was held at the late home southwest of Bonaparte on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Orf of Keosauqua officiating. Interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
