Funeral services for Simon P. Miller, Bonaparte oldest resident were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Bonaparte Presbyterian church, Rev. Treverton Warren of Keosauqua, officiating, assisted by the Masonic lodge of which Mr. Miller had been a member about 75 years. Interment was in Bonaparte cemetery.

Mr. Miller passed away very quietly and without much warning during the noon hour Monday, april 8 at the ripe old age of 98 years, 1 month and 28 days. For several years he had been making his home with his granddaughter, Mary Florence Derr.

Mr. Miller is survived by one son, Carl of Chicago; three grandchildren, Earl Miller of chicago, Dr. Miller Derr of Maitland, Mo., and Miss Mary Florence Derr of Bonaparte.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Miller Derr.
