Johnston-At Utica, Iowa, Saturday, Feb. 21, 1877, Mrs Libbie Johnston, daughter of Thomas and Margaret McVity, of Bentonsport, aged 28 years, 3 months and 21 days.

This death came very suddenly and unexpectedly and has cast a gloom over the entire community in which she lived. Mrs. J. had been in poor health for a year or more, but had been able to attend to her household duties up to twenty four hours before death. Her disease, we understand, was consumption, but had by none been considered in any immediate danger, until about eight hours before the dreadful result. The body was taken to Bentonsport for interment on the 26th, attended by a large number of friends and relatives. Thus has passed from earth one of the brightest ornaments of her community, a lady known and loved for her many virtues. Her husband has lost a kind, loving and affectionate wife, her parents a dutiful daughter and her community in shich she lived a valued friend and neighbor. Her husband and parents have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
