Mrs. Mary A. Eason died at Bonaparte Monday morning after a brief illness. Mrs. Eason was well and favorably known because of her being the proprietor of the Eason house at Bonaparte for many years. She was born in Alleghaney county, Md., Oct. 1, 1839, being 62 years of age. She came with her parents to Bonaparte in 1856, and lived a number of years with her uncle, Dr. R. N. Cresap, who was at that time conducting the hotel afterwards kept by Mrs. Eason. In 1865, she was married to Mr. E. W. Eason, who died a number of years ago. Mrs. Eason always kept a good hotel and was popular with her patrons and respected by all who knew her.
Saturday evening she complained of sore throat. Although remedies were promptly applied, she grew steadily worse and died Monday morning.
