Elmo Simpkins,70, of Farmington died Friday, May 31,1996 at University Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City. he was born Dec. 25,1925 at Bonaparte, the son of Clarence and Elizabeth Fletcher Simpkins. He lived most of his life in or near Farmington and was employed by Valley Limestone and Gravel. He later became a self employed trucker. He was a member of the Farmington Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by one son Mike of Farminhton and three grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Beatrice Kimmey of Farmington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held Monday June 3, at the Hofbauer Funeral Home. Burial was in the Greenglade Cemetery at Farmington.
