AN OBITUARY SKETCH
OF WOOD FISHER.

Wood Fisher was born in Platte County, Mo., near Weston, September 16, 1861, and died December 20, 1904, after severe suffering in Topeka, Kansas. His remains were brought to Bonaparte, Iowa, and on December 23 funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church in charge of he pastor, Rev. Geo. H. When. The burial service of the Modern Woodmen of which he was a member, were used at the grave.

Mr. Fisher was a member of the Methodist church and a firm believer in Christianity, and said he was prepared to go when his time came.

He was for a time Superintendent of the M. E. Sunday School here, a member of the church choir, and in his last moments of consciousness sang Hymn No. 83 of the Finest of Wheat which was always a favorite song of his and was sung at the funeral services.

He leaves to mourn their loss his wife of Bonaparte, his grandmother, father, and three brothers, Cye, Sam, Orville, of Rushville, Mo.; Chas. And Joe and Mrs. Mary Votan of Topeka, Kansas, Will of Lake Andes, S. Dak.; Lucy M. Alexander of Mayette, Kans.; and Georgia Watson of Arkansas City, Kansas.

The sympathy of this community is indeed with his wife who is well known here, having been brought up in Bonaparte.
