VIRGIL MOSIER

Edith Virgil, only daughter of William and Tunie Madden, was born near Mt. Sterling, Iowa, Dec. 2, 1893, and died at Luray. Mo. Sept. 29, 1921.

With the exception of the past few months, her life has been spent at Mt. Sterling and though brief in years, abounds in deeds of loving service.

December 10, 1910, she was married to Edgar Mosier. To this union two children were born, Arthur age ? and an infant son, William Nathaniel.

Besides the bereaved husband and children, she leaves her father, mother, and three brothers, William, Floyd and Russell, two grandmothers and many near relatives and friends, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community, which shares their sorrow, for in the death of Virgil many of us have lost a true friend, and the church and community a loyal Christian whose ever ready response when called to serve was “I will do the best I can.”

Early in life she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and united with the Christian Church and has continued a faithful servant in the Master’s Kingdom.

Interested in all Christian work she was a regular attendant at preaching and Sunday school. A member of the choir and for several years pianist, she freely devoted much time to preparing children’s programs and special music for the services. A worker in the missionary society, one who was ever ready to lend a helping hand where needed.

Of Virgil it can truly be said “She hath done what she could.” Possessed of a loving heart and cheerful disposition she freely scattered the sunshine of life and inspired hope and joy in the hearts of her friends who cherish the memory of the beautiful Christian life that was a blessing to all who knew her.

Funeral services were conducted at the Mt. Sterling Christian Church by Rev. Hartin of Luray, Mo. The many beautiful flowers bore testimony of the high esteem in which she was held.
