Mrs. Mary Lurena Troutman, 69, passed away Sunday evening at 5 p.m. in the University Hospital at Iowa City after a serious illness of two years.

Born May 8, 1894 in Olena, Ill., she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Jane Hill Totten. Reared in Mt. Sterling, she spent most of her life in Bonaparte and Farmington.

She was a member of the Methodist church here, W.S.C.S., and American Legion Auxiliary.

On December 21, 1911 in Keosauqua she married James Troutman, who passed away December 26, 1961.

Surviving are two sons, Elmer of Bonaparte and Joseph of Wever; daughters, Mrs. Pauline Steeples of Bonaparte, Mrs. Esther Lamborn of Farmington, Mrs. Wanda Adams of Burlington and Mrs. Mary Maxine Davis of New Hope, Minn.; four brothers, Walter Totten of Oxnard, Calif., Floyd of Vallejo, Calif., and Barry and Elbert of Napa, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Annabelle Biggs of Fort Madison, Mrs George Davis of Oxnard and Mrs. Irma Fitzgerald of Vallejo, 29 grandchildren and 25 great grand children and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, brother and two sisters.

The funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church with the Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery.
