Claude C. Ryland - Born Bonaparte on March 23, 1877 and died at home of his mother, Mrs. John O. Morris on January 17, 1910 in Bonaparte. Age 32 years, 9 months, 25 days. His parents, Curtis V. and Clara S. Ryland, lived in Bonaparte until 1883 then to Kansas City, KS where they lived until death of father in 1888. Returned to Bonaparte with mother and sister where he lived until 1899. Enlisted Troop "A" 7th Cavalry for Havana, Cuba. Returned 1900. In 1901 in Moline, IL employed by John Deere Co. On July 18, 1903 he married Miss Gertrude Bonslog of Moline. In October 1909 returned to Bonaparte. Leaves mother, wife, sister and other relatives. F-Bonaparte Cemetery, Bonaparte.
