James Robinson - Born in Barber Co., VA on August 2, 1826, died at home of Burnetta Bradford near Bonaparte on November 9, 1908, age 82 years, 3 months, 7 days. Married Martha Matthews on September 27, 1848 who were married 54 years. His wife died December 3, 1902. Eight children, all of whom departed except Waitman Robinson and Mrs. Burnetta Bradford. There were also 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Mr. Robinson and family came to IA in 1863. Served in 2nd IL Inf. during Mexican War. Also in 11th W. VA Inf. in Civil War. F-Vernon Cemetery, Vernon.
