John R Bell - Died October 15, 1908 at home in Keosauqua, age 71 years, 11 months, 1 day. Born Hancock Co., IL on November 14, 1836. In spring of 1837 moved to Mt. Zion, Van Buren Co. where he lived until 2 years ago, then to Keosauqua. First marriage was in 1859 to Sarah A. Bridell who died March 11, 1871. In January 1872 he married Almira Kimmel Bell who died September 16, 1876. On October 3, 1877 he married Mary C. Miller who survives. Three children: Marietta, Harriet F.; Addie B. were born to first union. One son, John S. to second union and one, Carrie, to last marriage.
