Mrs. Ellen Jewett Watts - Daughter of Rev. Daniel & Priscilla K. Jewett, born in Van Buren Co. May 20, 1843 and died January 4, 1908 at age 64 years, 7 months, 14 days. Parents were among pioneer settlers. Lived near Farmington. In 1855 she and parents moved to Bonaparte remaining several years. She went to Pella, IA to attend Iowa Central University in 1858 and 1859. Married February 23, 1864 to Robert R. Watts. He died August 5, 1903. In 1866 she located near Bonaparte where oldest sons, Frank J. and Robert E. were born. In 1868 moved to Pella. While there 2 younger sons, Alfred and Carlton C. were born. In 1879 she and her family returned to Bonaparte, then to Hillsboro. The 4 sons, Frank J. of Bonaparte; Robert E. and Carlton C. of Hillsboro, and Alfred of Rock Island are all living. There are also 4 grandchildren.
