Peter R. Keck - Son of Henry & Mary Keck. Born near Greensburg, PA November 21, 1836 and died March 5, 1907. Age 70 years, 3 months, 14 days. To Van Buren Co. with parents in 1846 to Utica. Enlisted Co. G. 4th IA Cavalry October 6, 1861. Served 3 years. Married September 5, 1867 to Miss Mary L. Green in Bentonsport. Children: Leroy M.; Clayton W.; Edna W.; Leslie; Hugh B.; Bertha C.; and Bessie. Only Hugh B., Edna and Bertha are living. Moved to Des Moines in 1899 where wife and mother died June 8, 1902. Buried in Bentonsport. Brothers Hon. J. A. Keck and Henry Keck of Van Buren Co. near Utica. At the funeral Hugh B. of Chicago, the only son present, but daughters Edna and Bertha on Pacific Coast could not attend. Among Pallbearers were Judson H. Keck, Elmer Keck of Utica.
