William B. Fleming - Born Strausberg, PA December 30, 1838. Died January 18, 1906 in Keosauqua, 67 years, 19 days. When 12 years old parents moved to Ohio. In 1861 he enlisted in 12th Ohio Independent Battery. In service 4 years 7 days. Rank 2nd Lt. After the war he left Ohio for Michigan, then to Milton, IA. Taught school. Married February 11, 1872 Miss Florence Kent. Five children, boy and girl died in infancy. At this time Carl is in OH; Craig in PA. Moved from Milton to Keosauqua in 1879. Had brothers who lived in Grand Lodge, Michigan and another in Pittsburg, PA. F-Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua.
