Fremont Franklin - Born Canton, IL December 17, 1856. Died 2 miles north of Bentonsport, IA August 1, 1905. 48 years, 9 months, 14 days. Married to M. McCracken February 25, 1890. Three children: Stella, 14 years; Jessie, 11 years; Kenneth, 8 years. Came to IA when youth, located in Vernon in 1862. Next year to Bentonsport. On March 17, 1866 he lost his father. In 1896 purchased home where he died. Left 2 sisters; Sallie Barker of Bloomfield; Mary Whitcanack of Winchester; a brother Ben Franklin of Omaha, NE, and an aged mother. His wife lost husband, his children and sisters, a brother his Mother. F-Bentonsport Cemetery, Bentonsport.
