Samuel Overman - Funeral at Keosauqua on March 26, 1905. Remains from Des Moines. Residence of son, J. M. Overman in Keosauqua (Purdom Cemetery) Death was at home of daughter, Mrs. Lee, in Des Moines, IA on March 24, 1905. Quote from letter he had written.

"Keosauqua, IA May 24, 1902. I was born October 15, 1825 at Clark Co., IN. My parents both died within 4 days of each other. I was not quite 7 years at that time. I grew to manhood in native State. In 1847 I went to IL. In church (M.E.) MO of November 1849 at Yorkneck Schoolhouse in Adams Co., IL. Married Nancy Ellen Robertson December 26, 1850 near Camp Point, IL. She died March 22, 1900. Seven children, 3 girls and 4 boys: Mrs. P. J. Horn of Hillsboro; Mrs. Mary S. Lee of Des Moines; Mrs. Fanny Baker of Mt. Ayr; J. M. and W. C. Overman of Keosauqua; John, Samuel and George M. who died in infancy."
