DeWitt Rockefellow - Born Orange Co., NY December 1, 1841. Son of Walter and Elizabeth Rockefellow and was Ed in Middletown, NY. Profession school teacher. To Van Buren Co. in 1865. Married Feb 18, 1869 to Mary J. Craig at home of her father, David R. Craig, Sr. in Vernon, now Henry Twp. Five children: Walter, the eldest died August 5, 1890. Remaining 4 girls are living: Mrs. George B. McCombs [sic McComb] of Keokuk; Mrs. Edwin Mackin [sic Mankin] near Bonaparte; Miss Carrie Rockefellow, unmarried and living at home; Mrs. George B. McCay of Chicago. (Date on notice Jan 30, 1905). Relatives: Mrs. George Ellis and Mrs. Fred Anderson of Keosauqua; Mrs. Rockefellow, cousins and Mrs. Rockefellow's brothers: George A. Craig and family of Henry Twp; James Craig of Farmington and David R. Craig of Brainerd, MN; her nephew W. A. Craig and wife of Keosauqua and niece Mrs. Jennie Repley [Rigsby] of Henry Twp. Died January 31, 1904. F-Thompson Cemetery, Bonaparte.
