Rawley Walter - Born in Preston Co., West Virginia July 16, 1827. In 1851 came to Iowa, living around Keosauqua and Vernon until the fall of 1852, when he returned to West Virginia. On January 13, 1853 married Miss Winnifred White and in April moved to Iowa, settling at Vernon until the Spring of 1856 when he moved to his present farm. Died April 2, 1904, age 76 years, 8 months, 17 days. Of five children born, two survive; George and Olive. Jerome died October 26, 1903 and the other 2 in childhood. F-Vernon Cemetery, Vernon.
