Obituary
Harriet Powell was born in Indiana Sept. 15, 1839. She was married to Christopher Boyd, December 20, 1855. To this union was born nine children, six children preceding her in death. Christopher Boyd died in 1872. She was married to B. M. Carns November 4, 1875. To them was born one son Harry, who died at the age of 18 years. Mr. Carns died at Cantril, Iowa May 8, 1906. In 1911 she came to Colorado and has made her home with her son Chas. Boyd, 701 N. 8th St. where she died Feb 5, 1924.

She is survived by three sons, Willis L. and Charles B. Boyd, of Rocky Ford and John W. Boyd of Lusk, Wyo., thirteen grand children and nine great grand children. Funeral services were held Feb. 7, from the Alderson funeral home in Rocky Ford. Interment in Valley View cemetery.

Many years ago she was a resident of Milton and will be remembered by the older people of this place. Her age was 84 years, 4 months and 20 days.
