KEOSAUQUA — Francis Maurice Gwinnup, 92, of Keosauqua, died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua.

He was born Dec. 2, 1914 near Mount Sterling to John L. and Gertrude Bowman Gwinnup. He married Fern Moffett Dec. 7, 1939 in Fairfield.

He graduated from Milton High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant.

He was a farmer, carpenter and woodworker and was employed a number of years by U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He had also served on the Keosauqua City Council.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Janet Coe (Gary) of Des Moines; a son, Terry Gwinnup (Mary) of Vienna, Va.; three grandchildren, Jeanne Rafdal (John), Terry Coe (Valerie) and Katie Gwinnup; two great-grandchildren, Jadie Rae Rafdal and Adrienna Sophia Coe; and a sister, Martha Carter of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Thelma Madden; and two brothers, Donald and Harold Gwinnup.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Rev. ellis andrews officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua.

Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to Keosauqua Public Library or Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 901 Hilltop Road, Keosauqua, Iowa 52565.
